Potensi Pengembangan Ekowisata Mangrove Di Perairan Pantai Sejarah Desa Perupuk Kabupaten Batu Bara
ABSTRACK
Mangrove forest ecosystems have unique natural resources with potential as ecotourism areas. The application of ecotourism systems in mangrove forest ecosystems is an approach in the sustainable use of mangrove forest ecosystems. This study aims to identify the characteristics of mangrove forests, tourism suitability index, and development strategies for mangrove ecotourism in Historical Beach. The method used is a survey method consisting of 1 station (Batu Bara Mangrove Park), Tourism Suitability Index (IKW), and SWOT analysis. Research activities were carried out in January 2023-February 2023. The results showed that the density of mangroves growing in the Historical Beach mangrove forest ecosystem was 2033 ind/ha which was included in the very dense category. The results of the identification of mangrove vegetation found in Batu Bara Mangrove Park obtained 3 mangrove species (Avicennia marina, Bruguiera clindrica, Rhizophora apiculata).The results showed that the historical beach mangrove forest ecosystem had an average IKW score, namely the Appropriate category (S2) with an average IKW score of 69.2%. The accumulated value of the results of the SWOT analysis is 0.6 (quadrant I). The ecotourism development strategy by implementing an aggressive strategy (SO), namely 1) Increasing stakeholder participation in the mangrove ecosystem conservation program, 2) Establishing the Historical Beach mangrove forest area as a conservation-based ecotourism, 3) Building cooperation with related agencies and institutions.
