Uji Beberapa Konsentrasi Beauveria Sp. Asal Lokal Terhadap Mortalitas Hama Tanaman Bawang Merah Spodoptera Exigua Hubner Di Laboratorium
ABSTRACT
The entomopathogenic fungus Beauveria sp. has a fairly wide host range and has a high level of virulence against the target pest. Beauveria sp. infects pest trought the cuticle by producing secondary metabolites and toxins that can accelerate the destruction of the target pest cuticle. This research aims to obtain the concentration of the local isolate Beauveria sp. which is effective in the controlling the shallot pest Spodoptera exigua Hubner in the laboratory. This research war carried out experimentally using a completely randomized design (CRD) with 5 replications and 4 treatments to obtain 20 experimental units. The concentrations of Beauveria sp. given were 0 g.l-1 aquades, 30 g.l-1 aquades, 45 g.l-1 aquades, 60 g.l-1 aquades, and 75 g.l-1 aquades. Parameters for observation were initial time of death (hours), lethal time 50 (hours), lethal concentration (LC50 and LC95), daily mortality (%), total mortality (%),changes in behavior and morphology, temperature and humidity. The result showed that the local concentration of Beauveria sp. 60 g.l-1 aquades with a conidia density of 12,5 x 108 con.ml-1 could already be used as bioinsecticide for the pest Spodoptera exigua Hubner because it result in a total mortality 82,50% with an initial death time of 51 hours after application and the lethal time of 50 at 96 hours after application.
