Pengaruh Doping Chromium Terhadap Sifat Magnetik Nanopartikel Oksida Besi Dan Aplikasinya Untuk Degradasi Metilen Biru
ABSTRACT
The purpose of this study is to determine the magnetic properties expressed in the hysteresis loop as well as the morphology of Iron sand Iron Oxide nanoparticles of Logas Village, natural sand, which are doped with Chromium. The separation between magnetic and non-magnetic particles is investigated using the strong magnet Neodymium Iron Boron (NdFeB). Magnetic nanoparticle preparation is processed by ball milling method for 100 hours which is called BM3. The BM 3 product is divided into three parts with the same amount of weight namely BM 3A, BM 3B and BM 3C. These products are doped with Chromium with concentrations of 0, 10, and 20 (wt%) using ball milling for 20 hours. The BM III products are used in methylene blue degradation applications. Degradation of Methylene Blue using Chromium doped Fe2O3 as a catalysts (0%, 10%, and 20%) and Hydrogen Peroxide (H2O2) as s oxidizer, using the photo-fenton method. The degradation product is centrifuged to separate the catalyst so that the absorbance can be measured with a Uv-Vis Spectrophotometer. Magnetic properties are tested using a Vibrating Sample Magnetometer (VSM) and nanoparticle morphology with a Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM). The magnetic properties of the samples are studied based on Loop Hysteresis showed that Saturation Magnetization (Ms), Remanent Magnetization (Mr), Coercivity (Hc), Loop Squareness (S), and Loop Area (A) decreased along with the addition of chromium doping concentration in the sample. The results of the Scanning Electron Microscope test showed that as the doping concentration is added to the sample the particle size becomes smaller, namely 1,316 μm, 1,308 μm, 0856 μm. The results of the degradation test are in the form of a percentage of degradation efficiency with the best value reaching 99.11%.
