ABSTRACT
Teluk Marunggai Nagari Nagari Nyalo Beach is one of the new tourist
areas in Pesisir Selatan Regency that will be in high demand by tourists over time,
which will have an impact on the life of biota on the beach, including
macrozoobenthos. This survey was conducted in March 2023 in the intertidal zone
of Marunggai Bay Beach, Nagari Sungai Nyalo, Koto Ampek Tarusan District,
Pesisir Selatan District, West Sumatera Province. The aim of this study was to
determine the type and density of macrozoobenthos species in the coastal waters
of Marunggai Bay and to determine the diversity, uniformity, dominance and
distribution patterns of macrozoobenthos in the coastal waters of Marunggai Bay.
The survey method used is the surveying method, where sampling is carried out
using the quadrant transect method at 3 stations. Based on the research results, 40
species of macrozoobenthos have been found. The most common species found at
all stations were Turbo cinereus from the Turbinidae family and the Gastropod
class. The obtained abundance of macrozoobenthos had an average value of 6.56
ind/m2. The diversity index is high with an average value of 3,320. The uniformity
index is high with an average value of 0.086. The dominance index with a mean
value of 0.121 indicates that no species dominate and the macrozoobenthos
distribution pattern with a mean value of 2.961 indicates a clustered distribution
pattern.
