Pengaruh PDRB Dan Upah Minimum Terhadap Penyerapan Tenaga Kerja Di Provinsi Riau

Riau Province has an important role for the regional and national economy.
Riau Province's natural resources which are potential superior include mining,
agriculture, plantations, forestry, marine, industry and services. The economy that
continues to grow in Riau is accompanied by sufficient job creation so that the
unemployment rate in Riau Province can be reduced. The number of labor force
in Riau Province is still relatively high compared to the number of working
people. The number of labor force which is higher than the number of working
population indicates that many workers in Riau Province have not been absorbed.
It is believed that there are several problems with economic growth and minimum
wages.
The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of GRDP and minimum
wages on employment in Riau Province in 2014-2022. This research is a
quantitative research with panel data regression method. The research model is
estimated using the Ordinary Least Square (OLS) method.
The results of the study show that GRDP has an effect on employment in
Riau Province. The Minimum Wage has an effect on employment absorption in
Riau Province.
