Kondisi Terumbu Karang Dan Kelimpahan Ikan Karang Famili Chaetodontidae Di Perairan Pulau Sironjong Gadang Kabupaten Pesisir Selatan Provinsi Sumatera Barat
Abstrak
Sironjong Gadang Island is one of the islands in the Mandeh Tourism area, in the South Coastal District, West Sumatra, Indonesia. One of the ecosystems affected by tourism activities is coral reefs. To find out this, monitoring the condition of coral reefs and abundance of reef fish of the chaetodontidae family. This study used a survey research method which was carried out in March 2023. The results of temperature measurements were obtained with an average of 30.2 oC, current speed measurements were obtained with an average of 0.12 m/s, the salinity measurement obtained with an average of 30 ppt, the brightness measurement obtained showed that the brightness in these waters was 9 m, and tidal measurements in the waters of Sironjong Gadang Island carried out on 7 March - 8 March 2023 was double daily tides ( Semi-Diurnal Tide). Then the results of the coral reef cover of Sironjong Gadang Island waters obtained percentages ranging from 2.34 - 12.83%, with an average percentage of live coral cover of 5.96% which is included in the bad category. Furthermore, the results at each research station in the waters of Sironjong Gadang Island obtained a total of 54 individual reef fish individuals with the number of reef fish at each depth ranging between 4-10 individuals. Of these, the most common species of reef fish was H. acuminatus with a total of 18 individuals and the least common species of reef fish were species C. trifasciatus and C. trichrous with two individuals each. So based on this relationship, it is obtained that the condition of coral reef cover in the Sironjong Gadang Island area is very bad. There is a very strong relationship between live coral cover and the abundance of reef fish in the Chaetodontidae family, where live coral cover affects the abundance of reef fish by 61.11%, which means that the higher the percentage of live coral cover, the higher the value of coral fish abundance.
