Penentuan Sifat Optik, Struktur Dan Morfologi Nanopartikel Perak Disintesis Menggunakan Ekstrak Daun Sirih Merah (Piper Crocatum) Sebagai Bioreduktor Untuk Degradasi Metilen Biru
ABSTRACT
This research aims to synthesize silver nanoparticles (Ag-NPs) using red betel leaf extract (Piper crocatum), which is used as a catalyst to degrade methylene blue. The extract of red betel leaf contains flavonoids and tannins, was used as bioreductors of Ag+ to Ag0 and stabilize silver nanoparticles. The volume ratio of red betel leaf extract to solution of AgNO3 0,1 M was varied by 1:1, 1:5, and 1:10. Optical properties of green synthesis AgNO3 was characterized by a UV-vis spectrophotometer, which shows absorption peaks at 418, 412, and 416 nm. The optimum volume ratio was obtained at a ratio of 1:10. XRD analysis shows that the nanoparticles produced were silver nanoparticles with a Face Centered Cubic (FCC) crystalline structure which is characterized by the presence of diffraction peaks at angle 2θ of 27,82° (111), 32,21° (200), 46,25° (220), 54,83° (311), 57,44° (222) dan 77,39° (420). SEM analysis showed that the morphology of silver nanoparticles is non-homogeneous. In addition, the presence of Ag was confirmed by the EDX spectrum of the sample that observed 66,5%. This study showed that higher contact time of degradation will increase the percentage of methylene blue degradation. The degradation activity of methylene blue at a concentration of 25 ppm in an optimal time of 8 hours resulted in degradation values of 66,51%.
