Pengaruh Tingkat Kematangan Dan Kedalaman Tanah Gambut Terhadap Sifat Kelistrikan Menggunakan Impedansi Auto Balance
ABSTRACT
The use of peatlands in the future will receive a stronger impetus and is likely to
become more widespread. This is due to the increasingly limited fertile land for
agricultural development. Electrical properties can be used as an indicator to
measure the condition of peat soil based on its level of maturity. One of the
methods developed in agricultural systems is through the measurement of the
electrical and dielectric conductivity properties. Peat maturity level is divided into
sapric peat (ripe peat), hemic peat (half-ripe peat), fibric peat (raw peat). Sampling
of peat soil was carried out in different locations, namely Labuh Baru Barat
Village, Payung Sekaki District (fibric peat), Rimbo Panjang Village, Tambang
District (Saprik peat), and Kubang Jaya Village, Siak Hulu District (hemic peat).
Measurements were made using the auto balance impedance method with the
AD8302 IC at a frequency of 100 Hz - 10 MHz. The depth of the peat soil used
are 0 cm, 10 cm, 20 cm, 30 cm, 40 cm and 50 cm with variations in the water
content used, namely 0%, 5%, 10%, 15%, 20%, 25%, 30% and 35%. The
conductivity value at the maturity level of peat with a water content of 35% at the
same frequency of 1 MHz yields successive values of fibric peat, hemic peat, and
sapric peat, are 8.08×10-6 S/m, 6.98×10-6 S/m , 4.55×10-6 S/m. The conductivity
value will increase with increasing depth of peat soil, with a depth of 50 cm
having the highest conductivity value. The conductivity of peat soil will be
affected by the soil water content with 35% water content having the highest
conductivity value. The dielectric value at the maturity level of peat soil with a
water content of 35% at the same frequency of 1 MHz yields values of fibric peat,
hemic peat, and sapric peat, namely 0.329, 0.133, and 0.137, respectively. The
dielectric value will increase with increasing depth of peat soil, with a depth of 50
cm having the highest dielectric value. The dielectric to water content will be
influenced by the value of the water content with a water content of 35% having
the highest dielectric value.
