Analisis Hubungan Kandungan Bahan Organik Dan Fraksi Sedimen Dengan Kelimpahan Makrozoobentos Di Perairan Desa Sungai Selari Kabupaten Bengkalis
ABSTRACT
Sungai Selari Village is an area in Riau Province that has quite dense water activities,
one of which is port activity where many crossing ships lean and also the
transportation route for fishermen looking for fish. This activity can cause water
pollution which leads to silting of waters called sedimentation. The activity of
sediment input into a body of water can cause a change in the ecosystem, both
changes in sediment texture, organic matter content, and abundance of
macrozoobenthos biota. One organism that can be affected by differences in
ecosystems is macrozoobentos because of its sedentary nature. This study aims to
determine the type of sediment grain size, organic matter content and its relationship
with macrozoobenthos abundance. This research was carried out in March-April 2023
using purposive sampling techniques with a total of four stations. The samples taken
were sedimentary substrates and macrozoobenthos. The results stated that the size of
the dominating sediment stalk, namely the mud fraction, ranged from 14.72% -
71.25%. The types of macrozoobentos found are grouped into 2 classes, namely:
Gastropods and bivalves. Individual abundances range from 0.3 - 4.4 ind/m2 with the
highest abundance occurring at station 4 and the lowest occurring at station 1. The
organic matter content ranges from 9.27- 34.2%. The relationship between organic
matter content and macrozoobenthos abundance has a fairly close correlation of
0.506. The relationship of gravel sediment fraction with macrozoobenthos abundance
showed a weaker relationship than sand and silt fraction of 0.493. The relationship of
the sand fraction with the abundance of macrozoobentos is high at 0.543 but has a
negative influence which means that both variables have an inversely proportional
influence, on the relationship of the mud fraction with macrozoobenthos abundance
of 0.544 which is included in the high category and has a positive influence.
