Identifying Errors Made By The Second Grade Students Of Man 1 Siak In Constructing Passive Voices Of Simple Past
By conducting this research, the authors aimed to identify the types of errors made by students in constructing passive sentences. The study used descriptive qualitative research. Data collection was carried out in MAN 1 Siak with its sample of 11th grade students. The initial step was to conduct a short interview with an English teacher from the school, and then give 40 questions about passive phrases in the simple past using a Google Form. The data obtained was processed using the Dulay theory. The results of the study explained that the most common mistake by students was misinformation (72.4%) followed by omission (21.6%), misordering (3.6%), and the lowest is addition (2.2%).
