Abstract Bromelain enzyme is a protease enzyme that breaks the peptide bond to produce amino acids which is more easily absorbed and utilized for the growth process. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect and the best doses of bromelain enzyme on the growth and survival of the snakehead fish maintained by using a recirculation system in swamp media. This research was conducted in March – April 2023 at the Fisheries and Marine Faculty, Riau University. The method used is an experimental method using a completely randomized design with 5 treatmenst and 3 replication. The treatment used was P0 (control), P1 (7.5 g/kg bromelain), P2 (15 g/kg bromelain), P3 (22.5 g/kg bromelain), P4 (30 g/kg bromelain) and maintained for 50 days. The results of this study have an influence on absolute weight growth, absolute length growth, specific growth rate, feed efficiency and feed conversion for snakehead fish but had no influence on survival rate. The best doses in this study was 22.5 g/kg which resulted an average absolute weight of 6,16 g, an absolute length of 6.2 cm, a specific growth rate of 4.10%, a feed efficiency value of 65.92%, a feed conversion value of 1.52 and a survival rate of 100%. Water quality during the study was in the range that supports the growth and survival of snakehead fish : Temperature 27.8-29.7 °C, pH 4.7-7.3, DO 4.3-7.1 mg/L dan amoniak 0.0287-0.1344 mg/L.
