Pengaruh Pendekatan Value Clarification Technique (VCT) Dalam Pembelajaran Sejarah Terhadap Motivasi Belajar Siswa Kelas XI IPS 3 SMA Negeri 1 Kuantan Mudik
The background of this research is that in the learning process teachers
still use conventional methods and only focus on the teacher so that students are
less active, boring and do not attract students’ interest so they do not have strong
learning motivation. Not only that, learning also tends to increase cognitive
aspects and pays less attention to students’ affective aspects, where teachers only
focus on transferring knowledge and less on transferring values. However
according to the 2013 Curriculum, attitude is the most important assessment. This
research aims to (1) To determine the effect of using the Value Clarification
Technique (VCT) approach on students’ learning motivation in classroom history
learning on the learning motivation of class XI IPS 3 at SMA Negeri 1 Kuantan
Mudik. This research uses quantitative methods with the type of Quasi
Experimental Design research or quasi experiment with product moments. The
population of this study was class XI IPS 2 as the control class and XI IPS 3 as the
experimental class. Data collection methods in this research are observation,
questionnaires and documentation. The result of the research show that (1) There
is an influence of using the VCT approach on student learning motivation where
the sig (2-tailed) is 0,00 < 0,05 meaning Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected. (2)
The magnitude of the influence of using the VCT approach on student learning
motivation can be seen from the average questionnaire score in the control class
with a pretest score of 69.42 and a posttest of 75.42, while for the experimental
class the pretest score was 68.96 an the posttest increased to 80.69.
