Implementasi Total Quality Management Untuk Meningkatkan Mutu Pendidikan Di SMK Dwi Sejahtera Kota Pekanbaru
This research aims to look at a school whose final product is educational
services, quality is not measured by whether or not the school is great, but from the
school procedure process of implementing Total Quality Management in the school.
As in SMK Dwi Sejahtera in Pekanbaru, schools can be said to be of high quality
if inputs, processes and outputs can meet the requirements demanded by users of
educational services.
To produce the best quality requires continuous improvement of human
capabilities, processes, and the environment. The role of the principal in
implementing Total Quality Management (integrated quality management) in the
school to improve the quality of education is how the efforts of a school leader
apply the principles and pillars of integrated quality management, and bring his
subordinates to understand the principles and pillars of management to be
implemented, the point is that all quality policy plans can be communicated and
described well by the principal to the school community as a whole.
The principal in implementing quality management can perform his main
duties and functions as a manager by carrying out a proper and clear distribution of
duties and responsibilities to teachers and school staff. The principal always strives
to improve the ability of educators with trainings or workshops. The distribution of
tasks is determined in the school meeting forum, in addition to involving teachers
in making every decision related to improving school quality.
Likewise, the function of a teacher who spearheads the school in improving
the quality of education should have the ability, competence and integrated quality
management so that the teaching and learning process is well conditioned and
professional. So as to be able to provide good service to its students. Another
important thing in integrated quality management is to have an organized, archived
and well-managed school administration. It can be realized by always updating
yourself and following technological developments so that document data
collection becomes easier and stored properly.
Thus, Total Quality Management is really implemented and carried out so
that efforts to improve the quality of school education are immediately realized,
through continuous improvements made by all school organization actors.
