Pemetaan Sebaran Terumbu Karang Studi Kasus Di Perairan Pulau Setan Sumatera Barat
ABSTRACT
Research was carried out in may 2023 aimed to map the distribution of coral reefs, then test the accuracy of the map result and determine the condition of coral reef cover on Satan Island. The methods used in this research were remote sensing and field survey methods where the remote sensing method used Sentinel-2 satellite imagery, while the field survey method to validate the distribution of coral reefs is produced from image data processing (Groundcheck) and to observe the condition of coral reefs used the Underwater Photo Transect (UPT) Method. To determined sampling locations for conducting ground checks on the distribution of coral reefs was using the Stratified random sampling method, while to determined sampling locations for observing coral reef cover was using the purposive sampling method. The coral reef distribution map shows that the coral reef distribution area is 13.18 ha or 47.55% of the total area of shallow waters. The accuracy test found an accuracy value of 80% with a Kappa coefficient of 0.7, which is a good category and a moderate level of confidence (agreement). The condition of coral reef cover based on live coral in the waters of Satan Island is in the Fair and Poor categories. The percentage ranges from 0.33% to 31.36%. with the dominating lifeform types being Coral Massive and Coral Submassive.
