Pemahaman Pendidikan Karakter Dan Implementasinya Oleh Guru Di Sekolah Dasar Negeri 17 Bukit Raya Kota Pekanbaru
SUMMARY
The current condition of education in Indonesia still has problems. The problems faced are related to the lack of application of character education to students in the school environment due to an imbalance in the intelligence being developed. Education is too biased towards intellectual intelligence rather than spiritual intelligence and emotional intelligence, so that students grow and develop as unbalanced and complete individuals. Based on existing phenomena, researchers conducted research with the aim of finding out and describing how the implementation of character education greatly influences student behavior.
This research uses a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. Descriptive qualitative research is a research method that describes conditions or phenomena that exist in the field. Data collection techniques use documentation, observation, and interviews. The subjects of the research were teachers and student representatives at SD Negeri 17 Bukit Raya. The sample determination in this research was carried out using non-probability sampling. Non-probability sampling This type of sample is not chosen randomly.
The results of the research show that 1) teachers at Bukit Raya 17 Public Elementary School, Pekanbaru City, are able to explain the meaning of character education, categorize and characterize character education, and compare character education to examples of character education. 2) An overview of the implementation of character education at Bukit Raya 17 Public Elementary School, Pekanbaru City, carried out in all subjects The character values that will be instilled in students are also in accordance with the syllabus and learning tools. 3) Based on data obtained in the field, the obstacle in the process of implementing character education values at SD Negeri 17 Bukit Raya is that habits at home are not in line with habits at school. Efforts to overcome these obstacles are made by uniforming teachers' attitudes in dealing with students and with parents.
