Abstract
Public relations is a profession which has a matching formal and lion
formal education qualification, and certain knowledge with public relations
profession ethic standard. In a institute, public relations is claimed to create a
good relations in its public with skill and competency of communication as a
communicator. Actually, there are still many public relations officers wich come
from non public relations education background or moreover are gradute from
senior high school, such as public relations in BLK-UKM.
One of the factor that influence the increasing of productivity is education.
Therefore, this research was done to know about the existence relations of public
relations officers education background with productivity of public relations and
looked for the characteristic from its relations. The alternative hypothesis
submitted was that there is a significant relation between public relations officer
education background with public relations productivity.
This research data was gotten with using observation, questionnaire, and
documenter method. Where, the data gotten from population was 42 in two of
kinds, primer and secondary data. Then the data was analyzed basic from result of
hypothesis test with using product moment correlation in significance standard
1% and 5%.
Product moment test result got the product moment correlation value (rxy),
0,636 was taller than correlation coefficient value in table (rt). Therefore, the
conclusion is relations of public relations officers education background variable
with productivity of public relations BLK-UKM Pematang Siantar was proved
have a significant relation.
