Deteksi Kadar Formalin Pada Tahu Berbasis Electronic Nose
Formaldehyde is widely used as a food additive to preserve food, one of which is tofu, because tofu has a high-water content which makes tofu rot quickly and taste sour. The use of formaldehyde as a preservative is strictly prohibited in accordance with the Republic of Indonesia Minister of Health Regulation No. 033 of 2012 because formalin is dangerous for body health. One innovative technology that can be used to detect formaldehyde in tofu in a simple and practical way is system design Electronic Nose (E-Nose). This research aims to detect the formaldehyde in tofu that has been soaked with varying formalin concentration of 0%, 1%, 2%, 3%, 4%, and 5% will be detected using E-Nose system which is designed using 3 gas sensors made from semiconductors including the TGS 2600, TGS 2602, and TGS 2611 gas sensors. The response produced by this gas sensor is in the form of voltage. This voltage has an integral area which is calculated using numerical integration. The response of the gas sensor will increase for each sensor as the concentration of formalin variations in the tofu increases, so that the higher the sensor responses, the higher the resulting integral area produces. The TGS 2602 sensor has the best sensitivity when compared to the gradient value produced on the integral area, that is 7,021, while the gradient value for the TGS 2600 sensor is 3,703, and the gradient value for the TGS 2611 sensor is 0,341. Based on the integral area, the regression coefficient value for each sensor can be seen which is related to the precision of the sensor when detecting compounds. The regression coefficient values for the TGS 2600, TGS 2602, and TGS 2611 sensors are 0,998, 0,986, and 0,959. It can be concluded that the sensor that has the greatest precision is the TGS 2600 sensor.
