The Supreme Court issued Supreme Court Regulation Number 4 of 2019 to assist parties who settle their cases with a simple lawsuit settlement in court. This thesis discusses first, how is the settlement of a simple lawsuit in the Pelalawan District Court. Second How is the legal consideration of the difference in decisions on similar cases in the settlement of small claims disputes in the Pelalawan District Court. This study aims to determine the settlement of disputes in simple lawsuits in the Pelalawan District Court. Then to find out the legal considerations for differences in decisions on the same case in the settlement of simple lawsuit disputes in the Pelalawan District Court.
The type of research used is a type of sociological research, because the author directly conducts research on location to provide a complete and clear picture of the problem being examined. This research was conducted at the Pelalawan District Court, while the sample population was Mr. Muhammad Ali as the Defendant, Mr. Zulkhairi as the Plaintiff, Mr. Deddi Alparesi as the judge of the Pelalawan District Court, and Mr. Yudhi Dharmawan as the Deputy Civil Registrar of the Pelalawan District Court, the data sources used, primary data and secondary data, data collection techniques in this study with interviews literature review and data analysis.
From the results of research on the problem of the Application of Supreme Court Regulation Number 4 of 2019, it can be concluded that the settlement of simple lawsuits in the Pelalawan District Court is considered more effective and shortens the time for dispute resolution. Then the legal consideration of the difference in decisions on similar cases in the settlement of this simple lawsuit dispute, where the evidence and settlement are not much different, it would be better to take reference from the previous case. If applied in this way, it can help justice seekers more quickly and more easily handle their cases at the Pelalawan District Court. In addition, it is important to increase public knowledge about the settlement of cases with simple lawsuits in order to comply with the principle of contante justitie, namely, the principle of fast, simple and low cost justice.
