Analisis Kemampuan Komunikasi Verbal Siswa Sekolah Dasar Menggunakan Media Permainan Monopoli
Abstract
Monopoly game media is a medium that can increase student interest and learning outcomes, then also make students active, enthusiastic and enthusiastic in learning, because in the monopoly game, students are the ones who are more active in communicating while studying. In this way, the monopoly game media is suitable for use in the learning process in forming knowledge and training students to communicate verbally in learning. This research used a qualitative descriptive method which was carried out at SDN 123 Pekanbaru in grades 5 and 6. The total data for this research were 12 students who were divided into 3 theme groups Hydrosphere, My Earth and the Solar System. The data collection technique involves documenting the results of voice and video recordings of students playing the Monopoly game media, observing the results of conversations and interviews from the documentation, then analyzing them to find the results. Data processing is in the form of text descriptions regarding verbal communication skills while students are learning to use the monopoly game media. Based on the data obtained, research findings on students' verbal communication abilities were reviewed based on scientific concept conversations in a time duration of 5 minutes and verbal communication indicators. From the results of the conversation on the concept of science with a duration of 5 minutes, it was obtained from the Hydrosphere theme group who were enthusiastic in conveying and connecting the knowledge they had in discussing the monopoly game. Then from the verbal communication indicators obtained Credibility (self-image) and Enthusiasm (enthusiasm) are indicators that get a very good category during the learning process, this is because students understand the material on the theme of monopoly so that these students have high courage and enthusiasm in learning to use Monopoly game media to develop thinking skills after obtaining learning material. Thus, monopoly game media can facilitate students to communicate verbally in expressing or conveying ideas, opinions, feelings and others, then it can also increase enthusiasm, thinking and communication skills, and increase students' social sense. In other words, monopoly game media can create communication, so that it can connect and construct knowledge and experience for students.
