A new approach is presented in this final project with the purpose of calculating the square roots of a quadratic matrix order 3. In this final project, the Cayley- Hamilton Theorem is applied to the characteristic polynomial of the square roots of a quadratic matrix order 3. In addition, this final project is also aims to determine the explicit formula of each square roots of a quadratic matrix order 3. Some examples are given in the application of the explicit formula to determine the square roots of a quadratic matrix order 3.
