The city of Pekanbaru has quite large potential in the craft industry, due to its strategic location and land and sea transportation routes. There are many small industries in Rumbai District in the form of rattan craft industries. Rattan crafts have been around since the 80s and have formed groups spread along Jalan Yos Sudarso, Meranti Pandak Village, Rumbai District. Rattan crafts as a creative industry utilize the basic material rattan which is processed into furniture items such as tables, chairs and handicraft items such as food hoods, baby swings and so on. The rattan craft industry in Rumbai District has good prospects in its production process because it still uses human labor which will be a plus for small industries in the sales process. However, the existence of the rattan industry in Pekanbaru is still relatively underdeveloped. The existence of business premises that are not well organized affects the marketing of rattan craft products themselves. Currently product marketing is carried out directly by visiting craft businesses, requiring consumers to park their vehicles on the road. Arranging business premises and supporting facilities for consumers requires solutions for craftsmen so that rattan crafts can develop well, because they can provide quite promising business opportunities. For this reason, there is a need for a forum to support the creativity of rattan craftsmen which can provide economic development for the craft industry in the form of a Rattan Craft Center. The Rattan craft center functions as a place that accommodates all activities related to the rattan craft process, starting from the production process to promotional activities for the production results. This Rattan Craft Center uses a Biophilic Architecture approach. The biophilic architectural approach is an approach that utilizes natural potential and can benefit humans and nature. By bringing natural elements into buildings, you can increase creativity and productivity as well as comfort at work. Apart from that, the biophilic approach also has an impact on creative activities in the economic sector in areas that have natural elements.
