Analisis Perubahan Posisi Front Terhadap Pasang Surut Air Laut Di Perairan Muara Sungai Pangabuan Kuala Tungkal Kabupaten Tanjung Jabung Barat Provinsi Jambi
This study was to know the distribution pattern and changes of salinity, temperature in the estuary of Kuala Tungkal Pangabuan River Jambi province. This research was conducted in July 2022 in the waters of the Kuala Tungkal Pengabuan River, Jambi Province. The analysis was conducted at the Oceanographic Physics Laboratory of the Department of Marine Science, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science, Riau University. The number of research stations was 2 stations where station 1 was in the river, station 2 was in the estuary estuary. The tidal conditions of Kuala Tungkal waters are semi diurnal, there are two tides that affect the condition of the front in Kuala Tungkal waters. The highest tide occurs during the full moon (spring tide) which is (3.1 M) with and the lowest tide (0.5 M). The position of the front is strongly influenced by the tides where at high tide the position of the front is deep in the river (2.45 km) from the mouth of the estuary front at high tide is difficult to see and observe, while at low tide the front is in front of the mouth of the estuary (1.4 km) front at low tide is easier to see and observe. The pattern of salinity distribution in the front area has a considerable difference due to the meeting of two waters with different salinities, smaller salinity comes from the river and greater salinity comes from the sea, at high tide 20 ppm - 24.8 ppm while low tide 17.3 ppm - 22.1 ppm. The highest temperature at high tide was (31.2°C) and the lowest temperature was (26.8°C), and at low tide the highest temperature was (31.6°C) and the lowest temperature was 27.6°C.
