Kelimpahan Mikroplastik Pada Ikan Belanak (Mugil Cephalus) Di Perairan Dumai
The mullet (Mugil cephalus) is a marine fish of the tribe Mugilidae which body is elongated and slender. This fish is benthopelagic with omnivorous eating habits. The plastics often found among the food that mullet fish consumes. The study was carried out in the waters of Dumai in June 2023, with the aim of knowing the abundance and type of microplastics in the stomachs of mullet. The method used is the survey method. The specimens were obtained from fishermen caught in the waters of Dumai. A total of 30 individuals of fish divided over 3 classes of small, medium and large sizes. The results of the study showed that there are 5 types of microplastic fragments, films, fibers, foams and granules. The highest abundance of the fragment type, from morphometric analysis it is known that this fish is allometric negative (b < 2.69197). The relationship between fish size and abundance of microplastics in mullet stomachs was very weak (r=0.03963)
