Pola Pendidikan Seks Orang Tua Pada Remaja Tunagrahita
Sex education is still considered taboo by some parents to give to their children. Not to mention for parents who have children with special needs such as children with intellectual disabilities. Parents always assume that the child will not understand even if explained, even though cases of violence against women with intellectual disabilities are not small. Not to mention the fact that children with intellectual disabilities even though their intelligence is below average but libido or sexual desire tends to be high so they need proper and correct guidance, both from parents and schools. This study aims to determine the form and parenting style of sex education applied by parents in providing sex education to adolescents with intellectual disabilities. The research method used is a type of descriptive qualitative research with data collection techniques through interviews, observation, and documentation. Based on the results of the research, it was found that parents who have children with disabilities have provided enough sex education to their children so that none of them do not provide sex education in any form at all. The parenting style applied is also dominated by democratic parenting. Sex education is given through many considerations and focuses on the goals to be achieved, namely children get the right form of sex education and the right parenting.
