the reserch aims to determine the effect of the combination of NAA and BAP hormones on the growth of api-api mangrove plantlets (Avicennia marina Forsk. Vierh) and to design teaching materials that are relevants to modern biotechnology concepts, Tissue culture material for class X high school students. The research consisted of II stages. Phase I 0f the research used an experimental methods with a factorial completely randomized design. The parameters observed were explant growth time, explant growth percentage, number of plantlet leaves and plantlet height analyzed using ANAVA and futher DMRT tests at the 5 percent level.Stages II research is the stage of designing learning leaflets which of originates from the result of research uses the ADDIE (analyze, segn, development, implementation, and evolution) which is simplified into the analyze, design, and developments stages. The results of he administration of the NAA homone and BAP had a significants effect on the growth of api-api mangrove plantlet (Avicennia marina Forsk. Vierh).The best concentration of NAA and BAP hormones was in the N2B2 treatment with a hormones concentration of 2 mg l-1 of NAA hormone and 2 mg l-1of BAP hormone which produced the fastest explants growth percentage of 100%, the number of plantlet leaves was 4 and the plantlet height was 4 cm. The results of the research can be used as an enrichment design for alternative learning media in the form of leaflet on modern biotechnology material for class X high school.
