Kloropil-A Gradien Longitudinal Di Sungai Mandau Kecamatan Sungai Mandau Kabupaten Siak

This research was conducted in October-November 2022 in the Mandau River Area, Mandau River District, Siak Regency, with the aim of knowing the longitudinal gradient of chlorophyll-a. The research station consists of 3 stations. Sampling was done 3 times with an interval of 1 week. Sampling of water quality parameters and chlorophyll-a samples were carried out simultaneously Water quality measured were temperature, transparency , current velocity, free carbon dioxide, pH, dissolved oxygen, nitrate and phosphate. Periphyton chlorophyll-a concentration on ceramic substrate ranged from 93.7-167 mg/m2, and supporting water quality parameters such as: temperature 29-30ºC,transparency 29-34.8cm, current velocity 0.20-0.24 m/s, pH 4.2-4.3, dissolved oxygen 4.11-4.17 mg/L, free carbon dioxide 15.91-17.57 mg/L, nitrate 0.018-0.026 mg/L, and phosphate 0.0466-0.066 mg/L. Based on chlorophyll-a concentration, Mandau River is classified as hypertrophic. Based on two way anova test on chlorophyll-a concentration, it shows that chlorophyll-a concentration is different between upstream to downstream of Mandau River.
