Efektivitas Ekstrak Cabe Jawa (Piper Retrofractum) Terhadap Maskulinisasi Ikan Guppy (Poecilia Reticulata) Melalui Pemberian Pakan

Guppy fish (Poecilia reticulata) as known as million fish is one of the most popular freshwater ornamental fish that is in high demand in society and is an export commodity. Morphologically, guppies have a beautiful tail shape and has attractive color especially males, so males have higher commercial than female guppies. An attemp to increase the male sex ratio is masculinization guppies gravid mother by feed using Java long pepper extract. This research aims to determine the best dose of Java long pepper extract against the percentage of male guppies and their survival rate. This research was conducted from July-September 2023 at the Laboratory of Aquaculture Technology, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, Universitas Riau. The method using an experimental with Complete Randomized Design (RAL) consisting of 5 levels of treatment and 4 repeats. The treatments were dose of without Java long pepper extract (control), dose 1 mg/kg, dose 2 mg/kg, dose 3 mg/kg , and dose 4 mg/kg.
