Perilaku Imitasi Pada Penari K-Pop Dance Cover Di Kota Pekanbaru
The Korean wave, as a rapidly evolving global phenomenon, is currently propelled by the presence of K-Pop, a popular music genre originating from Korea that has captivated diverse layers of the world population. Beyond merely music, K-Pop also encourages its fans to emulate idols in various aspects, including appearance, language, culinary preferences, and even engaging in Dance covers. The imitation behavior exhibited by fans towards their idols is termed as mimetic behavior, involving the precise replication of actions and lifestyles of others. This mimetic behavior is subsequently followed by consumer behavior, driving fans to consume products and services associated with their idols. This study aims to explore the forms of mimetic behavior and consumer behavior within the context of K-Pop Dance cover performers in the city of Pekanbaru. The research methodology employed is descriptive qualitative, involving four informants purposively selected based on their active membership in the Ensync community and a minimum of seven years' experience in following K-Pop. Data collection techniques include direct observation and in-depth interviews. The study's findings reveal that the forms of mimetic behavior among K-Pop Dance cover performers encompass aspects such as adopting the characters and behaviors of idols, mimicking their appearances, and communicating in the Korean language. On the consumption side, these performers engage in activities such as collecting idol music albums, idol-related merchandise, products endorsed by idols, as well as actively participating in social media and voting to support their idols. The imitative behavior is supported by consumptive actions that involve financial and time expenditures.
