Hubungan Ukuran Butir Sedimen Dengan Kelimpahan Bivalvia Di Perairan Teluk Buo Bungus Sumatera Barat
This study was conducted in January 2024 in the waters of Buo Bay Bungus West Sumatra in January 2024, aiming to determine the size of sediment grains, and the abundance of bivalves and analyze the relationship of sediment grain size to bivalve abundance. The method used in this study is a survey method, namely samples taken directly from the waters and then analyzed in the laboratory. The research location was divided into 3 stations with 5 sampling points at each station. "Sampling using a cement spoon spatula with 50 x 50 cm quadrant mapping to a depth of 10 cm.
The average diameter of the sediment at station 1 is 0.50 (-1.40) Ø which is classified as coarse sand - very coarse sand, with bivalve abundance ranging from 8.00-16.00 ind/m² Station II has an average sediment diameter of 2.900.800 which is classified as fine sand coarse sand, with an average diameter ranging from 12.0048.00 ind/m². While station III ranges from 4.633.03 classified as silt to very fine sand with bivalve abundance ranging from 44.00-84.00 ind/m2.s
Based on this study, sediment grain size with bivalve abundance has a very strong relationship with a coefficient of determination (R2) of 0.7181 and a correlation coefficient (r) of 0.8474 The finer the sediment grain size, the higher the abundance of bivalves, and vice versa.
