Research on the implementation of family functions in Balik Alam Village, Mandau District (case study of single parent workers in the informal sector) was carried out to explain the efforts made by single parent mothers in carrying out family functions and to find out the obstacles to single parent mothers in carrying out family functions by single parent workers in the informal sector. Family functions are carried out within the family in order to create a harmonious and ideal family. In determining research subjects using criteria determined by the researcher or what is called a purposive technique. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative research and there are 5 informant, namely single parent informal sector workers. This research discusses 6 family functions carried out by single parents who work in the informal sector, namely socialization, affection, education, religion, protection and economic functions. The results obtained from the research are that single parents who work in the informal sector make various efforts to carry out family functions. However, several family functions carried out by single parent informal sector workers are not carried out optimally. This is caused by the obstacles they have in everyday life.
