Distribusi Kelimpahan Gastropoda Pada Zona Intertidal Di Kecamatan Bandar Laksamana Kabupaten Bengkalis Provinsi Riau
The coastal ecosystem in Bandar Laksamana District, Bengkalis Regency
has various anthropogenic activities around the coastal intertidal zone which are
vulnerable to environmental change. Gastropods are mollusks that live at the
bottom of waters and play a role in recycling organic material. This research aims
to determine the distribution of abundance and the relationship between sediment
organic matter and gastropod abundance. This research uses a survey method by
determining sampling stations using purposive sampling. The determine
differences in gastropod abundance, the one way ANOVA test was used. The
determine the relationship between sediment organic matter and gastropod
abundance, statistical correlation and simple linear regression tests were carried
out. The research results showed that the sediment organic matter content at each
station ranged from 4.52-10.82%. At the research location, 9 families, 12 genera
and 17 species of Gastropods were found consisting of Stramonita sp., Bolinus
brandaris, Hexaplex trunculus, Stramonita haemastoma, Thais tuberosa,
Cerithium nesioticum, Strombus sp., Nassarius sp., N. jacksonranus, Hemifusus
elongates, Pugilina cochilidium, Neverita sp., N. didyma, N. lineata, Littoraria
undulate, L. scabra and L. strigata. The abundance of Gastropods between
stations has a value of 0.09-0.41 ind/m2 with an average of 0.26 ind/m2 and there
are significant differences in the abundance of Gastropods between stations. The
abundance of Gastropods between intertidal subzones has a value of 0.22-0.28
ind/m2 and there is no significant difference in the abundance of Gastropods
between intertidal subzones. The distribution pattern of Gastropods is clustered
with a moricity index value of 2.92-3.36 (Id > 1). The results of the correlation
and regression tests have a significant value of 0.574 > 0.05, which indicates there
is no relationship between the organic matter content of the sediment and the
abundance of Gastropods. The correlation coefficient value R Square (r) is
0.0471, indicating a very weak relationship. The results of correlation and linear
regression tests are interpreted in the equation Y = 0,1789 + 0,01x.
