Pengaruh Pemberian Recombinant Epinephelus Lanceolatus Growth Hormone (Relgh) Terhadap Pertumbuhan Benih Ikan Gabus (Channa Striata)
Snakehead fish is a fish inhabiting swamp waters with economic value.
The need for snakehead fish is increasing along with the increasing population.
With the increasing demand for fish, aquaculture techniques are needed to
increase its growth so that the length of the production process can be shortened.
The use of rElGH in aquaculture activities is proven to improve the growth
performance and survival of fish. In enlargement activities, it is not yet known the
right dose of oral administration of rElGH to spur the growth of snakehead fish.
This study aims to determine the dose of rElGH to produce the best snakehead
fish growth. This research was carried out for 60 days, from December 2023 to
February 2024 at the Aquaculture Technology Laboratory, Faculty of Fisheries
and Marine Science, University of Riau. The method used in this study is an
experimental method with a Complete Randomized Design (CRD) experimental
design with 5 levels of treatment and 4 repeats, so 20 experimental units are
needed. The dose of supplemental rElGH used in this study was as follows: P0)
without addition of rEIGH (Control); P1) 3 mg/kg feed ; P2) 5 mg/kg feed; P3) 7
mg/kg feed; P4) 9 mg/kg feed. The best treatment was obtained at a dose of
rElGH 7 mg/kg feed, which resulted in absolute weight growth of 3.89 grams,
absolute length of 3.29 cm, specific growth rate of 1.98%, feed utilization
efficiency of 77.84%, feed digestibility of 63.00%, and survival of 98.75%.
