Penambahan Jamu Fermentasi Dengan Frekuensi Yang Berbeda Pada Pakan Terhadap Hematologi Ikan Jambal Siam (Pangasianodon Hypopthalmus) Yang Diujitantang Edwardsiella Tarda
Herb fermented consisting of curcuma, turmeric and galangal, has antimicrobial potential and immunostimulatory, which can stimulate fish appetite and reduce fish stress levels against environmental changes. This research was carried out from June to August 2023 at the Fish Parasite and Disease Laboratory, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine, Riau University. The aim of this research was to determine the frequency of adding the best herb fermented to feed and analyze its effect on the hematology of jambal siam fish (Pangasianodon hypopthalmus) infected with Edwardsiella tarda. The method used was an experimental method with a 1 factor Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 5 treatments and 3 replications. The dose of fermented herbal was 200 mL/kg of feed. The treatments applied were, Kn: Negative control (Giving commercial pellets and not being challenged with E. tarda), Kp: Positive control (Giving commercial pellets and being challenged with E. tarda), and the frequency of adding fermented herbs to the feed at P1 (1 time in 3 days), P2 (1 time in 5 days), P3 (1 time in 7 days) and challenged with E. tarda. Fish sample 8-10 cm were kept in an aquarium (40x30x30 cm) for 46 days and challenged with E. tarda on the 32nd day with a bacterial density of (108 CFU/mL, 0.1 mL/fish). Clinical symptoms were observed for 14 days after in the challenge test. Results shown were at P3 which was by total erythrocytes 291 x 104 cells/mm3, hematocrite value 37.33%, hemoglobin level 10.33 g/dL, total leukocytes 11.14 x 104 cells/mm3, phagocytic activity 27, 95%, and survival rate was 86.67%. based on data obtained, it can be concluded that a frequency improve the health of Pangasianodon hypopthalmus
