Penerapan Prinsip Sustainable Architecture Pada Perancangan Recycling Business Hub Di Pekanbaru
The waste problem is a social problem that until now has not been fully addressed properly, especially in developing countries like Indonesia. Pekanbaru City is one of the cities in Indonesia that is still trying to deal with the waste problem. Increasing demographic figures and increasingly complex community needs and activities make it difficult to avoid the waste problem in this city. The waste production produced by the City of Pekanbaru in 2022 will reach 976.72 tons of waste every day (an increase of 9.23 tons/day from 2021) with a waste management system that is still focused on collection, transportation and disposal efforts, but in the end has potential opening new landfill land when the old landfill is no longer able to accommodate the load of waste. Therefore, the action of reducing the quantity of waste can be one of the important sustainable efforts to be included in waste management through the Recycling Business Hub as a forum for the waste recycling business community to recover waste into products with power and value that can be traded. The theme used in designing the Recycling Business Hub is Sustainable Architecture to achieve the principle of balance (equity) in the relationship between human activities and the natural environment in realizing Environmental Sustainability, Economic Sustainability and Social Sustainability. With this Recycling Center, it is hoped that it will be able to invite the community, waste pickers and the government to work together and strengthen each other through architecture as a forum.
