Prarancangan Pabrik Vinil Klorida Dari Etilena Proses Oxychlorination Dengan Desain Alat Utama Reaktor Oxychlorination (R-101)
Vinyl chloride Monomer (VCM) is one of the most widely used chemical compounds for the manufacturing process of polyvinyl chloride or commonly known as PVC. The manufacture of vinyl chloride compounds using the oxychlorination process. The plant will operate for 330 days per year and work continuously for 24 hours with a capacity of 125,000 tons/year. The plant will be established in Dumai City, Riau. The form of company applied is Limited Liability Company (PT). The employee work system is based on the division of working hours consisting of shift and non-shift employees. The design of the main plant equipment designed is the Oxychlorination Reactor (R-101) which functions to synthesize 1,2-dichloroethane by reacting ethylene, oxygen, and hydrogen chloride. The Oxychlorination Reactor is operated at a pressure of 4 bar with a temperature of 250℃. Economic analysis of the plant shows that the plant is feasible to establish. With a Break Even Point (BEP) value of 31.28%, Payback Period (PBP) of 4.98 years, Rate of Investment (ROI) of 12.82%, and Internal Rate of Return (IRR) of 38.99%.
