Prarancangan Pabrik Vinil Asetat Proses Asam Asetat Fasa Gas Dengan Desain Utama Kolom Distilasi Vinil Asetat (T-103)
Vinyl acetate is an intermediate material that has an influence on the chemical industry in Indonesia with the molecular formula CH3CO2CH=CH2 which is one of the raw materials for the polymer industry with a stable condition or not easily decomposed. Vinyl acetate is widely used to produce other chemicals, such as polyvinyl acetate which is widely used in producing synthetic plastics, the paint industry, adhesives, polyvinyl alcohol synthesis, emulsifiers and paper coatings. The main raw materials used in making vinyl acetate using the gas phase acetic acid process are acetic acid, ethylene and oxygen. This plant is planned to operate for 330 days per year and work continuously 24 hours/day with a capacity of 18,000 tons/year which will be established in the Cilegon Industrial Area, Banten. The remaining time during the operation process is used for shutdown, plant maintenance, equipment maintenance and repair. The company form chosen is a Limited Liability Company (PT) with a line and staff organizational system. The employee work system is based on the division of working hours consisting of shift and non-shift employees. The major design equipment in this plant is the Vinyl Acetate Distillation Column (T-103) which functions to separate vinyl acetate monomer which is the top product from acetic acid and water which is the bottom product which will be recycled back to the vaporizer along with fresh acetic acid feed. This Vinyl Acetate Distillation Column is operated at a pressure of 1 atm and a temperature of 106 ℃. Economic analysis in the design of this factory shows that the vinyl acetate factory is feasible to establish. With a Break Event Point (BEP) value of 28%, Rate of Investment (ROI) of 67.0142%, Interest Rate of Return (IRR) of 22.75%, and Pay Back Period (PBP) of 1 year.
