Isolasi Dan Uji Aktivitas Antibakteri Senyawa Metabolit Sekunder Fraksi Dua Ekstrak N-Heksana Tumbuhan Paku Tanduk Rusa (Platycerium Bifurcatum)
Platycerium bifurcatum is an epiphytic plant that naturally grows on branches and trunks of trees in tropical, subtropical, and rainforest environments. Previous studies have reported the antibacterial activity testing on methanol, dichloromethane, ethyl acetate, and water extracts of P. bifurcatum. Based on the literature, there hasn't been any antibacterial activity testing against n-hexane extract of Platycerium species, particularly P. bifurcatum. This study aims to isolate secondary metabolite compounds from the n-hexane extract of P. bifurcatum and evaluate the potential of these compounds as antibacterial agents. Samples were extracted using the maceration method with methanol solvent and fractionated using liquid-liquid extraction with n-hexane, dichloromethane, and ethyl acetate solvents. The n-hexane fraction was separated using vacuum liquid chromatography (VLC) to yield five main fractions.
