Prarancangan Pabrik Vinil Klorida Dari Etana Dengan Desain Alat Utama Kolom Distilasi Vinil Klorida (T-202)
Vinyl chloride is an organic compound monomer with the molecular formula C2H3Cl. It serves as the primary raw material for polymer production, especially in polyvinyl chloride (PVC) manufacturing. The process of producing vinyl chloride involves direct chlorination of ethane with chlorine. The plant is planned to operate for 330 days per year continuously, 24 hours a day, with a capacity of 270,000 tons per year. The plant's location is intended to be in the industrial area of Cilegon, near PT Asahimas Chemical, at Jl. Raya Anyer-Sirih No.Km 122, Gunungsugih, Kota Cilegon, Banten. The chosen business structure is a Limited Liability Company (PT) with a line and staff organizational system. Employee work schedules are divided into shift and non-shift based on working hours. The main equipment design in this plant is the Vinyl Chloride Distillation Column (T-202), which functions to separate and purify vinyl chloride from dichloroethane and hydrogen chloride to a purity of 99%. The Vinyl Chloride Distillation Column (T-202) operates at a pressure of 6.6 atm with a peak temperature of 74˚C and a base temperature of 145˚C. Based on the economic feasibility analysis, the establishment of this plant is justified with a Payback Period (PBP) of 2 years, an Internal Rate of Return (IRR) of 22.759%, a Return on Investment (ROI) of 55.03%, and a Break Even Point (BEP) of 40%.
