Studi Kinetika Adsorpsi Logam Berat Pb(Ii) Pada Zeolit Berbahan Dasar Abu Layang Kelapa Sawit
Palm oil fly ash can be used as raw material for zeolite synthesis. The aim of this research is to determine the adsorptivity of fly ash-based zeolite towards Pb(II) metal and determine the adsorption kinetic model. Zeolite synthesis was carried out using the alkaline hydrothermal fusion method with a Si/Al ratio of 1,25. The synthesized zeolite was applied to adsorb Pb(II) metal with varying contact times of 20, 40, 60, 80 and 120 minutes. Fly ash was characterized using XRF and XRD. The adsorptivity test was analyzed using ICP-OES and the kinetic model was determined. The results of XRF analysis of fly ash contain 61,31% silica and 0,873% alumina. Fly ash XRD data shows that the highest dominant peak is quartz. The results of the adsorptivity test of synthetic zeolite against Pb(II) metal obtained the highest efficiency, namely 99,77% at 40 minutes with an adsorption capacity of 99,77 mg/g. The reaction kinetics model is pseudo second order with R2 = 1 and k value = 0,04167g/mg min.
