Pengaruh Perempesan Pelepah Kelapa Sawit Terhadap Pertumbuhan Kakao (Theobroma Cacao L.) Yang Ditanam Diantara Kelapa Sawit
The area of smallholder oil palm plantations in Indonesia in 2019 reached 5.89 million. The average productivity of smallholder oil palm is relatively low, namely around 16 ton of fresh fruit bunches (FFB) ha-1 year-1. This is an indication for oil palm farmers to find planting patterns that can increase income, such as intercropping or intercropping. One of the plants that has the potential to be planted using an intercroping planting pattern on oil palm plantations is cocoa. Cocoa planting between oil palms is done to make the cocoa an intercrop. This research was carried out at the Agrotechnology Experimental Garden, Faculty of Agriculture, Riau University, Rimbo Panjang Village, Tambang District, Kampar Regency. The research lasted for 5 months starting from July to December 2022. Research This research was carried out experimentally using a non-factorial completely randomized design (CRD), namely midrib pressing. Consisting of three levels of frond perempesan, namely: P0: Control (Without Pressing), P1: 50 cm pressing, P2: 100 cm pressing P3: 150 cm pressing, P4: 200 cm pressing. Each treatment was repeated four times, so that 20 experimental units were obtained. Each experimental unit consists of one sample tree so that the number of sample trees used is 20 sample trees. The results of this research show that Pressing 150 cm and Pressing 200 cm influence the increase in stem girth, increase in number and increase in leaf area. Pressing 150 cm is the best treatment because it can increase the growth of cocoa seedlings in oil palm stands.
