Strategi Peningkatan Kapasitas Produksi Oksigen Dari 150 Tpd Menjadi 160 Tpd Melalui Penyesuaian Parameter Operational Pada Oxygen Plant #5
Oxygen Plant is a facility that produces oxygen and nitrogen by separating them from atmospheric air. The plant's primary goal is to generate oxygen for use in Oxygen Delignification (ODL) processes during the washing of pulp. The demand for oxygen can fluctuate based on the factory's requirements, posing a challenge for the Oxygen Plant to prepare for increased oxygen demand that exceeds its production capacity. This study aimed to increase the oxygen production capacity of Oxygen Plant #5 from its initial 150 TPD to 160 TPD. The study focused on adjusting operational parameters, particularly the oxygen gas flow rate, to achieve this goal. The results showed that when the oxygen gas flow rate was low, the production rate decreased, and when it was increased, the production rate also increased. On September 4, 2023, the oxygen gas flow rate was 4383 Nm3/h, resulting in 150.2 TPD of oxygen gas, and on September 23, 2023, the flow rate was increased to 4680 Nm3/h, resulting in 160.5 TPD of oxygen gas. To ensure that the level in the storage did not decrease during the increase, several supporting parameters were adjusted. These included increasing the pressure discharge boosting pump from 16.28 Bar to 16.50 Bar to ensure that the oxygen sent to customers was greater than the recycled oxygen, increasing the nozzle opening on the turbo expander from 88% to 93% to add more liquid air for the distillation process, and adjusting the reflux flow in the distillation process from 11,500 Nm3/h to 10,300 Nm3/h to balance the gas condensation in the main condenser. The outcome of the parameter adjustments showed that these adjustments could be made to increase production capacity without reducing process efficiency
