Biologi Reproduksi Lobster Cherax Quadricarinatus Di Sungai Katoman Desa Ranah Baru Kecamatan Kampar Kabupaten Kampar Provinsi Riau
Cherax quadricarinatus can be found in the Katoman River. To understand the reproductive biology of that lobster, a study was conducted from August-October 2023. Samplings were conducted 6 times, once/ 2 weeks. The lobsters was captured using a net trap with 0.5 inch mesh size. Parameters measured were total length, wet weight, length-weight relationship, sex ratio, sexual characteristics, gonad maturity level, gonad somatic index, fecundity and egg diameter. Results shown that the sex ratio (male:female) was 1:1.3. The growth pattern was positive allometric in male and isometric in female. The Gonad Somatic Index (GSI) increases with the increase of Gonad Maturity Level (GML), the GSI of male were 0.27% (1st GML), 0.29% (2nd GML), 0.59% (3rd GML), 0.67% (4th GML) and 1.12% (5th GML). While those of the female were 0.32%, 0.57%, 0.86%, 1.10%, 5.10% and 5.475 in 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th GML respectively. The fecundity ranged from 266-488 eggs/ lobster. While the egg diameter was varied from 0.57 to 2.17 mm.
