Pemanfaatan Tepung Daun Gamal (Gliricidia sepium) DIFERMENTASI Aspergillus niger Dalam Pakan Terhadap Pertumbuhan Benih Ikan Nilem (Osteochilus hasselti)
Gamal leaves (Gliricidia sepium) are one of the alternative ingredients to replace soy flour in feed which has a high protein content of 23.5%. This study aims to determine the effect of utilization of gamal leaf meal fermented by Aspergillus niger as a feed ingredient on feed efficiency and growth of nilem fish fry. The method used in this study is a one factor complete randomized design (CRD) with 5 levels of treatment and 3 replications, while the treatment is artificial feed containing fermented gamal leaf meal by 0, 20, 30, 40, and 50%. The test fish used were nilem fish fry with an average weight of 3,06 ± 0,19 g. The feed was given to test fish kept in cages measuring 1x1x1 m3 with a stocking density of 25 fish/m3. The test feed was given three times a day as much as 10% of the biomass weight for 56 days. The container used for observation of feed digestibility was an aquarium measuring 60x40x40 cm3 with a stocking density of 25 fish/m3. Measurement feed digestibility was carried out by giving test feed three times a day ad satiation which has been mixed with Cr2O3 indicator as much as 0.5% of the total feed. After feeding, feces were collected and dried to analyze the Cr2O3 and protein content. The results showed that the substitution of soybean flour by gamal leaf meal fermented with A. niger as much as 50% was able to be utilized well by nilem fish and resulted in feed digestibility values of 53.70%, protein digestibility of 78.51%, feed efficiency of 31.94%, protein retention of 23.15%, specific growth rate of 2.75%, and 100% survival.
