Serapan Karbon Fitoplankton Di Waduk PLTA Koto Panjang Kabupaten Kampar Provinsi Riau
Various types of anthropogenic activities in and around the 12,400 ha Koto Panjang Reservoir will affect phytoplankton organisms that act as primary producers and ecological indicators. This study aims to determine the types and abundance of phytoplankton and the concentration of chlorophyll-a in the Koto Panjang Reservoir. Phytoplankton samples were collected using bongo nets at 4 selected stations in March - April 2024 and were analysed in the laboratory. There were 33 types of phytoplankton obtained, consisted of 8 divisions (Chlorophyta. Chyanophyta, Ciliata, Desmidiacae, Diatome, Euglenophyta, Phrrophyta, and Foraminifera), and Lagerhermis sp was the most numerous reaching 336,788 cells/m3. Total abundance of phytoplankton obtained ranged from 225,641 – 916,239 cells/m3 with the highest abundance at Station 2. At this station, the chlorophyll-a content was also the highest, reaching 0.953 mg/m3. It can be concluded the type and abundance of phytoplankton in the Koto Panjang Dam provided chlorophyll-a that fulfil the necessary to support the ecological function of this reservoir.
