Peran Serta Masyarakat Dalam Pengelolaan Instalasi Pengolahan Air Limbah (IPAL) Komunal Di Kabupaten Kampar
Wastewater management is becoming an increasingly important issue in this modern era, especially in large cities where high population numbers cause an increase in waste volume. One solution offered to reduce the risk of groundwater pollution is wastewater treatment through a Communal Wastewater Treatment Plant (IPAL).
The Communal IPAL program is an effort made to deal with wastewater that is used collectively. Therefore, community participation is very necessary for its management and maintenance. This research aims to analyze the condition of Communal Waste Water Treatment Plants in Kampar Regency and the factors that influence Community Participation in the management of Communal Waste Water Treatment Plants (IPAL) in Kampar Regency. Communities play an important role in communal wastewater treatment plants (IPAL) because they are the users and owners of the wastewater sources that must be treated. This research is quantitative with a Cross Sectional Analysis Study design. Primary data was obtained by distributing questionnaires. From the results of the research, it was found that the condition of the Communal WWTP in 5 villages of Kampar Regency, 3 villages were in accordance with their own domestic wastewater quality standards where the BOD and COD values did not exceed the maximum levels, namely Aur Sati Village, BOD 14.5 mg/L, COD 42.14 mg/L. L, Pulau Tinggi Village BOD 16.9 mg/L, COD 73.05 and Empat Balai Kuok Village BOD value 20.1 mg/L, COD 52.18 mg/L. Meanwhile, 2 villages with BOD and COD results exceeded the maximum levels, namely Teluk Kenidai Village BOD 54.4% mg/dl, COD 136.3 mg/L and Kampa Village BOD 56.3 mg/L, COD 139.5 mg/L. Variables The variables studied are the role of the community in managing the Communal IPAL and the independent variables of knowledge, education, economics and government support. The research results show that there is a significant relationship between knowledge (Pvalue 0.002), economics (Pvalue 0.000) and government support (Pvalue 0.02) with community participation in the management of Communal IPAL in Kampar Regency, while the education variable is not significantly related (Pvalue 0.069). It is hoped that the community can actively participate in the operation and maintenance of the communal IPAL and that the government will always accompany the community using the communal IPAL in operational and maintenance activities.
