Analisis KosentrasiNitritOksida (NO) dan Karbon Monoksida (CO) TerhadapFungsi ParuPekerjaPabrikKelapa Sawit PT. X di Kecamatan Kuantan Mudik
Background:
Air pollution exposed to humans has become a worldwide problem and causes various pulmonary diseases. Gases and particles produced by palm oil mills include Nitrogen Oxide and Carbon Monoxide components. High levels of Nitrogen Oxide will increase mucus production in the airways and the inhalation effect of Nitric Oxide in the lungs can cause a decrease in lung function.
Methods:
A comparative study of Nitric Oxide and Carbon Monoxide exposure to lung function of palm oil mill workers in Kuantan Mudik Subdistrict with a total of 100 respondents and as control respondents in village X, Kuantan Mudik Subdistrict as many as 100 people was conducted in October 2023. This study aims to analyse the concentration of Nitric Oxide (NO) and Carbon Monoxide (CO) on lung function.
Result:
The results showed that the concentration of Nitric Oxide (NO) and the concentration of Carbon Monoxide (CO) factory workers who had impaired lung function was 17% (restriction) and the X village community was 3% of the results of spirometry examination. The NO concentration in factory workers 21(11) was significantly higher than the NO concentration in villagers 12(8). The CO concentration in factory workers 7(8) was not significantly different from the CO concentration in villagers 4(9). While demographically (Age, Period of Work and Length of Service) there were no significant differences..
Conclusion:
High levels of nitric oxide in the Kuantan mudik sub-district palm oil mill will cause a decrease in lung function (restriction) while carbon monoxide is not found to have a significant relationship with lung function.
