Aplikasi Dosis Kompos Hayati Metankos untuk Mengendalikan Hama Kumbang Tanduk (Oryctes rhinoceros L.) pada Tanaman Kelapa Sawit di Lahan Gambut
Oil palm (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.) is one of the leading plantation commodities which in terms of area and total production is the largest in Indonesia when compared to other plantation commodities. The challenge faced in the development of oil palm plantations is the pest O. rhinoceros which can cause economic losses. One of the causes of the pest explosion is the unwise use of pesticides which can cause various negative impacts on the environment such as environmental pollution, killing of natural enemies, pest resistance and resurgence, and the emergence of new biotypes. The use of biological compost containing Metarhizium anisopliae made from oil palm empty fruit bunches can not only improve soil fertility but also control pests. Based on this, it is necessary to conduct research in order to know the best dose of metankos in controlling horned beetle (O. rhinoceros) larvae and supporting plant growth in the nursery and the best dose of metankos to control horned beetle (O. rhinoceros) pests in the field.
This research was conducted at 2 research locations, namely in oil palm nurseries using a complete randomized design consisting of 5 treatments and 5 replications so that 25 experimental units were obtained. Treatments in oil palm nurseries consisted of T0 = 0 kg/plant, T1 = Metankos 0.1 kg/plant, T2 = Metankos 0.2 kg/plant, T3 = Metankos 0.3 kg/plant, T4 = Metankos 0.4 kg/plant. The experiment on the barrow consisted of 6 treatments and 3 replications so that 18 experimental units were obtained. The treatments on the barrow consisted of C0 = 0 kg/ barrow, C1 = 5 kg/ barrow, C2 = 10 kg/ barrow, C3 = 15 kg/ barrow, C4 = 20 kg/ barrow, C5 = 25 kg/ barrow.
The results showed that the application of methankos in oil palm nurseries had a significant effect in controlling O. rhinoceros larvae and was effective in supporting the growth of oil palm plants. And the application of metankos in the yard has a significant effect on the initial time of death, lethal time, and total mortality of O. rhinoceros larvae. With the best dose, namely the application of metankos as much as 25 kg / wawangan with the initial time of death 8.25 days after application, lethal time 10.5 days after application and total mortality of 83.55%.
