Pemanfaatan Bottom Ash Sebagai Substitusi Sebagian Agregat Halus Dengan Penambahan Admixture Silica Fume Pada Pembuatan Paving Block
ABSTRACK
The combustion process of coal as a fuel in the PLTU XYZ in the form of fly ash, constituting 85%, and bottom ash, accounting for 15%. To mitigate environmental pollution, bottom ash presents potential as an alternative material to partially replace fine aggregates, such as sand, in the production of concrete, bricks, and paving blocks. This study aims to analyze the compressive strength of paving blocks with the incorporation of bottom ash at varying proportions of 0%, 5%, 10%, and 15% of the weight of sand, alongside bottom ash at 5%, 10%, and 15%, with the addition of 5% silica fume based on the weight of cement. This experimental research employs test specimens in the form of cubes measuring 10 cm in length, 10 cm in width, and 6 cm in height, with three samples for each variation. The ratio of cement to fine aggregate in the paving block mixture is set at 1:3, and compressive strength tests are conducted at 28 days of curing. The findings of this research reveal the following data: a) the average compressive strength for the 0% bottom ash variation (as the control) is 10.00 MPa; b) the average compressive strength for the 5% bottom ash variation is 8.66 MPa; c) the average compressive strength for the 10% bottom ash variation i
