Strategi Adaptasi Petani Padasaat Peremajaan Sawit Rakyat Di Kecamatan Pekaitan Kabupaten Rokan Hilir, Provinsi Riau
This study aims to analyze the adaptation strategies used by oil palm farmers during the replanting period in facing financial and operational challenges in the Mandiri scheme and the BPDPKS fund assistance scheme in Pekaitan District, Rokan Hilir Regency, Riau Province and to analyze the impact of replanting on the economic welfare of oil palm farmers, in the Mandiri scheme and the BPDPKS fund assistance scheme in Pekaitan District, Rokan Hilir Regency, Riau Province. This study is a quantitative study with the independent sample t test method and SWOT analysis.
The results of the study showed that farmers in the BPDPKS scheme used the government's people's oil palm rejuvenation fund (PSR) of 30,000,000 to replant oil palms, in facing operational challenges, namely replanting with the simultaneous fall technique. In the Mandiri scheme farmers used the underplanting technique, farmers only needed to plant young oil palm plants between old oil palm plants.
In facing the financial challenges that were lost during the replanting period, oil palm farmers during relanting with the BPDPKS scheme used intercropping techniques, did other off-farm and non-farm work, used for cost efficiency and maintained farmers' income during the replanting process.
Farmers with the Mandiri scheme when replanting oil palms in facing financial challenges, namely the strategy that can be applied, the intensive strategy, farmers do not need to look for additional work to meet their living needs during the replanting period because they still get income from oil palms, can use family members' labor to reduce expenses during the replanting period
