Prarancangan Pabrik Pentaerythritol Proses Ercros Dengan Desain Alat Utama Crystallizer (Cr-101)
ABSTRACT
Pentaerythritol is a chemical used as a resin in the explosives industry, paint industry, lubricants, and other sectors. The production of pentaerythritol in this factory utilizes the ERCROS process. The plant is designed to operate for 330 days a year, continuously working 24 hours a day with a capacity of 20,000 tons per year, and will be located in Serang, Banten. The chosen company structure is a Limited Liability Company (PT) with a line and staff organizational system. Employee work schedules are divided into shift and non-shift workers. The main equipment design for this plant includes the Crystallizer (CR-101)). Economic analysis in this design indicates that the plant is feasible to establish. Based on the economic viability assessment, the pentaerythritol plant from formaldehyde and acetaldehyde is considered viable, with a payback period (PBP) of 3 years, an internal rate of return (IRR) of 22.74%, a return on investment (ROI) of 25.03%, and a break-even point (BEP) of 54,79%.
